Exploring the Pacific Northwest Landscape

Driftwood, Ruby Beach

Posted December 24th, 2007 in [hide]

Driftwood, Ruby Beach

An easy hike from a turn-out along 101, Rialto Beach is one of the few access points to the Pacific that can be easily reached from the main road.

Here we see the famous drift wood at low tide, with military rows of trees stretching high in the background and small, flat, rounded pebbles making up the beach. To my back were the famous rock formations when I shot this. With sunset approaching and wildly changing weather, the sun burnt the clouds nearest to the horizon.
