Snoqualmie Pass through the Storm

Visible from I-90 ( or, ‘The Mountains to Sound Greenway’ ), these are among the most singularly impressive peaks along Snoqualmie Pass.
Further to the East, beyond Cle Elum and Ellensburg, the road descends into the desert. This vast wasteland stretches on to Spokane; but, here is a mountain wonderland. Immediately to the south and west lies Keechelus Lake, a huge body of water, currently frozen, abutting the freeway. Across the lake is the Iron Horse Trail.
