Fog in the Mountains Above Olallie State Park

Posted December 8th, 2007 in [hide]

Fog in the Mountains Above Olallie State Park

Low hanging clouds hugging the peaks and floating over a valley in the Cascades a few dozen yard from Olallie State Park. I-90 cuts east from Seattle, following a deep canyon through the mountains, reaching the pass alongside Keechelus Lake at 2,400 feet above sea level.

  1. Did you take this in a helicopter above the freeway?

  2. No … the road follows the bottom of a valley or canyon through the mountains, so as soon as you get off of it you’re moving uphill. It was a pretty short hike to change the perspective enough for this shot … but I’m glad you noticed!
