Elevation Plot: Granite Mountain

Posted December 27th, 2009 in [hide]

Elevation Plot: Granite Mountain

The hike up Granite Mountain is steep and relentless, gaining 3,551 vertical feet over the course of a short 4 miles. About half the hike is above the major timberline.

This elevation plot was created with SportTracks, a GPS tracklog database program, using data from an Oregon 550t unit.

  1. Curious. Why the need for 3rd party software? That’s not something Excel can do, or whatever came with your GPS? I bet it’d be real easy with the Graphics object in .net. ;D
