Duck!

Posted October 9th, 2007 in [hide]

Ducks aren’t typically thought of as fine art, and generally for good reason. Still, it can be good practice trying to make something so plain look attractive. All of the same tools - lighting, color, depth of field, geometry - can be used on humble fowl:

  1. Damn, dude, those are some gorgeous shots (like usual). I tried taking some pics of Canada geese this past weekend, but I’m only a hack photographer.

    Nicely done.

  2. Thanks!

It’s funny, most people call them Canadian geese. Even one of those educational signs around Gold Creek Pond mistook it. They’re not Canadian, though; they can’t vote, they don’t wear flannel, and they don’t say “eh” a lot. They’re just named for Canada.

  3. Sweet! I like the blue in the 2nd one.

  4. These are really beautiful and professional pictures. Well done.
