Where the Mountains Meet the Prairie

Where the Mountains Meet the Prairie

From the south, the road narrows until it feels barely paved, climbs over a small ridge, and then, finally, after too many hours since leaving I-80, the Tetons show themselves. Soon the road continues on to Grand Teton National Park, which abuts Yellowstone.

  1. Is it just me or do they look like a serated knife standing up in a bowl of fruit? Probably the fruit bowl part is me (I’m thinking cantalope?) but those are some jagged mountains! Great pic tho, like always.

  2. I’m not sure about fruit bowls, but the mountains do have a pretty steep profile. That’s part of their appeal, though: the way they seem to come out of nowhere, rising up high from the grasslands.

  3. Such marveouls scenery! I’m jealous. Keep up the good work for the rest of us who don’t get to travel.
